The National Association of Sporting Goods Wholesalers was organized in 1953 and incorporated in 1954. The Association was originally identified as the Sporting Goods Jobbers Association. In 1962 the name was officially changed, and manufacturers and reps were invited to join as Associate members. Today the NASGW is comprised of wholesalers, manufacturers, and reps who are primarily involved with fishing, hunting and shooting sports equipment and accessories.
The NASGW annually recognizes manufacturers with Manufacturer of the Year Awards. The criteria for the awards is based on areas of the manufacturer's performance which enable the wholesaler to provide efficient and effective service in the marketplace. The NASGW maintains liaison with other sporting goods associations, and is a member of the National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors (NAW). NASGW members receive a discount on NAW Publications. |
